Intel Unveils 48 Core Processor "Single Chip Cloud Computer"

Today, Intel unveiled a new processor design with 48 cores (fourty-eight). The chip is dubbing the "Single-chip Cloud Computer". It was previously codenamed Bangalore. I am wondering if todays software licenses based on per physical CPU will change into per Core to make the software more profitable? via pcper
